One year ago in this space, we saluted the 2014 Business
Leader, Government Leader and Community of the Year
and commemorated the first 25 years of the Indiana
Chamber’s Annual Awards Dinner.
We begin the next quarter century of celebrating business
excellence with a new tradition – adding the Indiana Vision
2025 Dynamic Leader of the Year award to the longstanding
honors. Why? Because entrepreneurship and the goals in
the Dynamic and Creative Culture driver of the Indiana
Vision 2025 plan are essential to our state’s economic
future. The people helping move us in that direction deserve recognition and support.
Dustin Sapp, CEO of TinderBox, is the inaugural winner of the new award. He may not
have planned on an entrepreneurial career (see story on Page 40), but he now possesses
15 years of successfully starting and growing new businesses – and also serves as a
mentor to others looking to do the same.
We also congratulate the 2015 trio of Mike Packnett of Parkview Health (Business
Leader of the Year), State Sen. Brandt Hershman (Government Leader of the Year) and
Carmel (Community of the Year).
In less than a decade, Packnett has achieved impressive results at Parkview, in the Fort
Wayne community and in helping Northeast Indiana move forward as one region.
Hershman is a tax and fiscal expert in the General Assembly who has played a major
role on a variety of critical issues. Carmel continues to shine as one of the nation’s
leading examples of a community that embraces business and emphasizes an extremely
high quality of life.
BizVoice® will begin 2016 with a special section focused on Indiana’s 200th birthday.
We’ll bring you some of our state’s illustrious business history, while also previewing a
few of the ways Indiana will commemorate the occasion. The January-February issue
has been endorsed as an official Bicentennial Legacy Project.
